Catching bears.

Is there a trick to skipping through their fleeing HP? at the moment it seems like I NEED a horse or I'm never gonna catch upto a bear when it runs after one stab...

They should add throwing javelins. If you have horse and you are chasing animal you can throw it with them. Only works from horseback to animals that are running away. Not for homans.

doesn't solve the problem of hunting on foot though, I know a lot of people have already suggested wounded animals running slower or even a hamstring type of move, it's just frustrating that it's still so annoying, bears run from me after a stab and it's a then we have a chase that usually only ends once I happen to run into a horse.

>Get bear to 330hp through punches/chop/parry/feigned dodge
>Chop bear for anywhere over 170hp
>Bear is enraged, thus skipping flee-mode.
>Bear can now be killed easily.

I found that via punching/left hooking a bear started running after a mere 200ish damage :< no where near low enough HP to chop for a kill.

If you perfectly block every attack from the bear it knows its outclassed and will flee but if you let several attacks dink off your armor it tends stay to fight you longer
I also heard that animals tend to run if they get hit a lot in rapid succession but idk about that

If you're jumping in and out of a boat, the animal is more then likely to bug and run.

Legit, stand in a open field. Engage the bear. Pop a defensive and keep your defensives up, 4 is enough. Punch the bear, use a client that tells you how much damage you've down. Once you reach ~300-300hp dmg to the bear, chop it. It'll enrage it. Maybe you can do a little less and chop. Then kill it.

Fucking.Simple.
