Black ore

Postby skyfish19 » Mon Nov 09, 2015 11:45 am

Hi everyone, just simple question.
What is black ore?
I am in my mines at 2 lvl and I checked with rustroot. It found black ore on 3rd level. Any clues?

Not just supposedly.

Do you know if it is better than bloodstone? I have been unable to find clear information on whether it is or not.

The wiki suggests differently, though.

18% compared to 25-30%?

Well, we can consider what Wikipedia has to say...

According to it, Hematite (bloodstone) is the "main ore mined for iron" in the world while magnetite (black ore) "has not the best iron yields" and hence is used for other industry purposes.
As I'm sure Jorb & Loftar made their research, we could assume that Bloodstone is indeed more efficient.

those values are from forum posts. if anyone kept records of a large enough sample size (250 or so) with certainty that all ore was mined by characters with all mining skills, they're free to change them.

Thank you everyone for your help.
I suppose iron ochre yields more iron bars than heavy earth?
