Psyche is very difficult to raise. Mine is 22 and my other stats are like 55-65. I didn't even start to raise it from 10 for a while.

Some early-midgame psych foods and their skill and tech level requirements:

Ant Emperesses - raid an ant hill, no requirements using the bait-and-flee technique but very rare to find.
Dried bat wings - Need to kill bats (about 30 unarmored and 20 agility), as well as have an herbalist table which requires flax or hemp.
Ring of Brodgar - need poppies and barley to make these
Cave Bulb - Need fairly high Exploration and Perception to find these rare items in caves
Boiled oysters - need moderate Exploration and Perception, and then a cauldron.
Liver and Onions - need onions and any meat. You also need a frying pan which requires metal.
Rat on a Stick - Need a rat. And a stick. And a fire. This is definitely the easiest psych food.

As you can see, it's a mess. Don't stress it if your psyche goes nowhere. We're mostly all in the same boat.

Psy is much easier to raise than it once was. Liver and onions and buttersteamed cavebulbs are the best of the bunch.

10-60 or so you can do easily with 1 butter-steamed cavebulb/level, using enough random low FEP variety foods.

This, except liver and onions are made of entrails not raw meat
