Tree growth

At what growth % does a "normal" tree give a log when you chop it down? Normal being trees not like cherry or walnut that give 1 log, and very few planks or blocks.

around stage 3 to 5 i think. i don't know for sure.

lowest tree i had left was at 37% and gave a log (alder). though note that the amount of wood per log will be affected by growth percentage.

walnut is not a bad tree tbh. gives 2 logs with 45 blocks each.
