Problem with "Stake Claim"

Postby Eviscera2 » Tue Nov 24, 2015 9:42 am

So I've just bought the "Yeomanry" skill so I can stake my own claim. However there is a problem, the button to "Stake Claim" is nowhere to be found :( I've checked in Adventure, the Haven and Hearth tab, all the crafting and build options and it isn't there. I have also tried logging out and back in to no avail. So... I'm wondering, what am I doing wrong? Do I have to pay $15 dollars to validate my account? Or do I have to subscribe? I am really confused. If anyone could shed light on this situation I would be most grateful. Thanks in advance :D

Have you discovered all the items you need to make a claim stake? I'm thinking that a wonderful dream is the most likely thing you haven't discovered yet.

Edit: Just noticed that you said "Wonderful Dream" okay then my bad ;) Thankyou!

I know you have the items, but have you actually discovered them all?

Oh, I probably just called the dream the wrong thing. There's only one type, as far as I know :) But you don't need to be subscribed or anything. You just need to have the yeomanry skill and to have discovered the items.

It's a block of wood and a stone that you need, not a branch.

Does harvesting the dream off of the dream catcher yourself count as discovered(I didn't make the dream catcher myself)? I just got the bones off a chicken I caught and got branches off a tree. I think I have discovered everything :/

You have to have harvested a dream yourself. You don't have to have built the dream catcher yourself.

You don't need a branch. You do need a block of wood, which means you need to have an axe equipped, and then you need to chop either a log from a tree that's been cut down, or one of those (mirkwood) hollow logs that are lying around. Its image takes up two inventory spaces.

You also need some stones.

And the bones - chicken bones are fine, but you have to have butchered the chook yourself. You need to have an axe (stone is fine) equipped to butcher an animal.

Edit: oh, good! Glad you worked it out. The wiki is often unreliable at this stage because many of the entries are based on the previous world. So these forums are a useful resource :)

The new build probably hasn't been added yet. We're still working on finding old information and replacing it.

This is actually all that is required for a discovery. You get a discovery for brick items by taking one out of a kiln. You don't need to actually dig the clay and fire it yourself. Etc, etc.

Thanks for the information so I don't have to look it back up in game. I'm updating the page now.

Note to self (or if anyone has it handy): double check material needs for the claim totem.

5 blocks, 4 stones, 4 bones, one dream.

There's also the 8 hours cooldown until the claim can become active. Until then, strangers don't need criminal acts to interact with it, and it can also be bashed by hand.
