mussels and pearls

Hi I've been cooking up mussels for a while now with absolutely no luck for pearls! I guess they are not the 1 in 100 anymore does this mean the water ql effects them also as it seems to effect the mussel ql like usual..?

I have also noticed that trade threads don't seem to be asking for pearls as a currency much anymore? I was hoping to use these to buy some better stuff"? Sorry if this has been asked before

I don't think pearls are fate-based. I managed to get two pearls in a 80-mussel batch.

So if I try and use my forager to single-handedly get 10 pearls from harvesting, and boiling mussels to make a pearl necklace, I won't be successful?

You might be, but likely not from simply bruteforcing the matter, much like you will not be getting many experiences if you only spam for one of them.

Water and cauldron quality affect mussel quality, but not pearl quality.

No real use for them. Neckies and rings aren't worth the effort, the small LP/hour boost doesn't really matter as they only last an hour. You really don't want to boil mussels solely for pearls, it's not worth the effort.
