Taming Mouflons/Aurochs?

Postby FarmAndHarmalt » Mon Dec 07, 2015 7:56 am

Hey,

I'm at 27 UA / 38 str / 31 Agi right now, is that about good to tame sheep?

Also, taming aurox i assume is a bit harder, where should i be for that in terms of UA?

can you hunt them? (aurochs is tougher) if you can kill one then you can tame it. i'm taming both with 35ua and 25mc(shield)

if you can't kill one then build a small base with a cliff and exploit stuff. you can attack with melee through a short cliff, get your defenses up (maybe armor) and just tap them. you'll get them eventually. i recommend taming several at once cause it's slow and you may kill them by accident

don't forget to hit the peace button thing when taming, although aurochs gives a lot of fur (2 pieces of 4). i've killed 3 animals and none tamed so far hehe
you can reset battle by going into a building/cave or running away and starting over, at least it worked for me

be prepared, they eat a lot. or just get a bull for a wagon and park him on grass

I've killed quite a few using a bow, but i have no melee combat points. I do have a garbo shield though.
Does a shield just passively raise defenses with MC skill? I'll have to try using it.

Though i did get lucky, found a random sheep (already tamed) just wandering around and grabbed it up with a rope, so i have that.

Should be good for mouflon (assuming you have full leather armor, shield q don't matter)

For aurochs you might want 40 UA.

I have an Auroch leashed, I just haven't discovered shields up yet. Damn you RNG

You should be fine for sheep with full leather armor. However for cows i recommend around 50 UA+ full leather, including bat cape and badger vest. Even with about 60ish ua cows still one hit your def bar so be carefull when fighting.

Ok yeah - i leashed a cow since it was RIGHT outside my door, and got spooked when a mouflon gave me a hard time (no shield up, no shield equipped, bad armor, etc)

Thanks for the help

I have been killing auroch and sheep for a while and don't have 60 UA yet. I tamed my first few with a bow, started taming with UA around 30 UA, 30 agi, and full leather armor. It's actually easier to tame them then kill them as you don't have to worry about them running away.
