Bottom line is: doesn't make your hunting any better. One-shotting animals is more important than consistent damage, unless you want to hunt only from horseback, which can be frustrating when you don't have horses nearby.

huh didnt know you could hunt off horseback which is cool tho, but to not flood the forums, can you also tell me if the spear gives sting a boost in damage since thats the only move it can do? or is it better to just run with a sword? (cant really carry a shield because im mining and want the most invetory space i can get)

its boars and soon to be bears
If it's bats you're hunting, then you're good with ~40 UA and a basic armor, you can shrug their attacks off and easily kill them with punches.
