learning sting

i remember searching around for a bit and finding out that not many people how exactly to learn specific moves in combat. im hoping that changed.

iv been fighting foxes, which are the strongest thing i can beat and i cant seem to ever learn sting or any attack with my boar spear. i save up IP and always have it equipped... but nothing...i just spam quick dodge watch its moves and take aim. but the few moves i learn are all unarmed attacks. would anything effect my chances of learning a weapon skill?

I can confirm boars give it. Not 100% sure on foxes.

Try de-aggroing if it doesn't work after a while.

great... what kind of stats will i need to take on boars?

I can tell you that badgers give it too. You need only a little better stats to take on a badger than a fox; I'm not sure of the exact numbers since it depends what discoveries you have already: also wear some leather armour made from the best foxes you can find.

You can learn sting from foxes.

However, after killing many foxes/badgers with a boar spear equipped I never got it. It wasn't until I was able to make a sword that I had it pop up. I don't know if that's related or just coincidence.

You'll need a spear or sword equipped to get it, and you might need a spear specifically if you aren't getting it

Possibly they made a mistake when coding it in. I got it with a sword too, but I admit I didnt try with a spear.
