Tree Stunting

Postby hikahi » Sun Dec 13, 2015 8:59 pm

So, I've been planting a lot, and I've started to notice that some of my trees seem to get stunted randomly. I have spread them all out so that they are at least 4 squares away from any other object (except my wall, which does not seem to matter) and some end up stunted while others grow just fine.

I've included an image so you can see my layout and how some trees/bushes are growing fine while others are not. Anyone have a clue what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks!

Spacing does not affect stunting. Jorb has confirmed trees will stunt at random, for no reason besides he hates us.

The one thing you can do is get druidic rite, then plant some trees, have them stunt anyway, preferably on both seeds of your best lineage, then cry yourself asleep :D It is a harsh system indeed. :(

With druidic rite at least 1/3 of my trees get stunted at various stages. Probably just rng and i'm unlucky.

Tree stunting is fated.

use trees that produce a lot of seeds early on, like mulberry or fruit trees. seeds are not quality limited by growth percentage (as wood is). when you get to an acceptable quality, plant a shitload and pray to jorbtar.
