PAtches of fur?

i just noticed you can split patches of fur like fox and bear hides but the patches of fur wont go in tanning tubs/drying racks/herb tables, what are they for and did i waste a perfectly good bear hide? nothing new poped up on my crafting/building so im curious what the whole purpose is for the splitting of hides

Some things, most notably poltices, take one "prepared animal hide" but it really takes only one "square" of hide. So if you make one with a bear hide you'll have 3 patches left over.

I'm surprised you can't dry or tan them. You ought to be able to.

also Patches can be made into parchment.

If I recall right, jorb said this was a bit of an unintended oversight, but no word on when it would get changed. I could be wrong. I'd have to dig to make sure.

To note, these are dried hides already, so not any point in putting them on a drying rack.

Maybe you should mention things to improve it, then? What would you find useful? What isn't useful? There's a thread to discuss the wiki here, or you can make an account and add useful things yourself.
