How Does the Essence Affect the Food?

Hi~ I have noticed the other two qualities will affect the hunger and the FEP of the food, but I can't figure out what dose essence affect.

That said, satiation is presently such a weak mechanic that essence on food is useless.

energy may be nice candidate for being affected by essence.
Anyway it matters only outside of village (in the village food is in abdundance to cover energy needs) so it may economy inventory space a bit
