Postby talauna » Thu Dec 17, 2015 7:04 am

Really?
How big is haven and hearth? I keep traveling but somehow keep finding more and more land!

are we talking 24 hours to find the edge? is there no edge?

There is an edge but the world is so massively huge that if you wanted to be safe forever, just walk really far away for a couple hours from the center.

There's nothing but a guarantee of boredom by going to the edge of the world.

I heard it wraps like the character creation forest.

Yeah, I did too but then I also read somewhere on the forum that someone reached an 'edge', so .... none the wiser .... maybe someone can confirm which is true? Someone who has actually been there mind. :P

both wrapping (character creation) and an invisible edge (valhalla) exists in the game, so could be either. go find out and let us know.:p

There is an invisible edge you will bounce against (would show you but its invisible). Depending on your method of travel (walk vs. run and use of horses) you are looking at 8hrs-to-days to get there from the starting area.

I have to agree. It's nice to have a hermit out there completely unscathed by the politics of the hearthlands. It's nice to have another account/character involved in such politics, too. If you get burned out because you're all alone, go make a new character and make some friends. If you are getting burned out because of all the politics, go make a safe haven and a hermitage.

Just to note: if you want animals on your hermitage, it will require some dedication each day/week to keep them fed, otherwise, you can ignore it for days and weeks at a time and come right back to it.

I'm surprised nobody has set up some sort of monastery out in the deep wilderness for trusted friends and such, just a way to get together and have people to chat and trade with. Then again, something like that likely would get hunted down and destroyed. We can't have nice things.

Also, if W3 is any indication, even with its monstrous size, the big factions will still spread out looking for better quality resources to exploit.
