Excess Seeds

I have an abundance of excess seeds. Is there anything I can do with them? Just throw them away?

I imagine something to do with feeding animals, but I haven't gotten that far yet. Seems like making food from them somehow would be appropriate, but either my cooking knowledge, or most likely, my game knowledge (played maybe a week?) is failing me.

Pumpkin
Hemp

I've done a lot of searching on the forums, but most of the topics are about how to find x seed in what biome, etc.

Poppy & pumpkin are both used in baking. Flax seeds can be pressed to produce linseed oil. Otherwise seeds can be used to feed animals, or plant grass.

additionally, flax seeds are used in linseed loaf. barley seeds are made into flour.

build a chicken coop and go catch some chickens and feed them the rest of your seeds.

You can store up to 10000 seeds in a barrel and barrels don't take much space, so you may want to save the seeds to feed animals later.

All my extra seeds go to animal feed. Its always best to not waste them when you can lol.
