About starting a village

Has starting a village changed since old haven?

Do you need multiple people to start a village?
How do you get authority again?
If I'm just one person, would I want a village claim or a pclaim?
How can I recruit people that won't backstab me?
How do Field Cairns work?
Can you put one Cairn inside another?

well i dont now if its changed but

The first person to right click on it you become the law speaker then the next four will have the next descending rank.
Authority is gain when someone finishes studying a curio the authority gained is the same as the lp gained.
A village claim would be better for more than 4 people, you should stick with a personal claim.
Well you cant really tell if people you hire will backstab you but you could set up gates or field cairns.
They work like Personal claims except they work based on what colour group you belong to in the village
I dont know if you can put a cairn in another one or not

parts of this may be incorrect

Nothing has changed in mechanics of building a village. Material costs have changed (need any metal, i believe... it's not been updated on wiki that I'm seeing.) Only Banners can increase space (and authority). Statues only increase authority.

Only need one person to create a village claim. The 50k LP cost is split between party members as equally as possible, so if only one person is in a party (or only person with LP), then that one person pays all 50k.

With mechanics changes, there isn't a need for a village claim to protect you (the village cannot "revoke the privilege" unless the village claim over the land is older than the personal claim on the land), and it isn't useful for trading anymore.

I'm probably forgetting something. I'm not logged in right now, and it's late. There are other changes in the way villages work, but I think all the important ones for setting up a village have been hit.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Field Cairns can be used to allow only some villagers access to area that it covers, according to kin color like personal claims. Note that unkinned people also count as whites, so only give them rights if you want to create a public area.
