okay... So I'm a little rusty when it comes to Haven and Hearth... how can I make a wood shovel? That is a thing in Hafen right??

To get the blocks you will need a stone axe - Discover a branch from a tree and chip a stone.
To get the boards you will need a bone saw - Discover a bough by picking it off a tree, and get a bone by butchering a chicken, rabbit or squirrel.

Then cut a tree down, and saw/chop the logs in order to discover the blocks/boards. Your menu should flash with the new 'shovel recipe'.
