Do I need this to be good with a Bow?

This might be a stupid question but does Perception affect how well I can hit something with a bow?

Just to help me out some more. What kinds of food provide that skill?

Which ones are easy to acquire in the early stages of the game?

Early in the game, your perception likely won't be the limiting factor in your bow skill anyway. You shouldn't have to worry about it until you can produce bows/slings with better Substance than your Perception.

So perception is more of a hard or softcap than a damage multiplier?

It works as most of these things do; the "effective value" used for damage calculation is the geometric mean of your Perception and the weapon's Substance.
