New world discoveries

You can collect its roots, and they heal a little when eaten!
Do the roots run out? Do they regenerate? How useful is this? Should I settle around it? Fuggg!

I got an experience too:
Some time, in the great old beginnings, when the old gods were still young, free, and wild, a mighty tree did here come crashing down. Now there is only shade, and damp, and the slow decay of ages. You have found an ancient windthrow.

I also found one but get no option when I right click it? Do you think you need some particular skills?

Mod note: split off from the previous thread so people can post what they find

So far have found

Heart of the Wood-- can pick leaves, leaves heal travel weariness

Geyser--can pick up brimstone from it, no idea what it does at this point

Sorry, forgot to get screenshots (geyser can be seen in the "Prelude" post by jorb).

edit: Thanks to orcling for posting a screenshot of the heart wood viewtopic.php?f=39&t=46796&start=370#p610940

Not previously mentioned:
-clay pit gives pit clay
-ice spire gives an item that finishes all studying curios
-Giant mussel on beach gives mother of pearl, a curio that (at q3) occupies 15 attention, uses 10 experience, and gives 4238lp
I have no idea the study time as my int is still shit
-guano pile gives guano, idk what it does

Found "Headwaters" at the end of a river in the mountains. You can fill water containers with "Spring Water" from it. Not sure if it's an ingredient or just better water in some way.

Edit: ...and I just realized my screenshot looks like a...mushroom. Yes, a mushroom, that's it.
