Shared Personal Claims?

Postby TehBoomer » Sat Feb 20, 2016 5:57 am

My wife and I play this game together, and we'd like to share a claim together. Is it possible for us to share a personal claim? Or is a village claim required?

Additionally, if we can share a personal claim, how do we go about doing it? Changing colours of the name in kin window? What do the colours mean?

The colors are arbitrary and are, indeed, just meant to set the groups you want to manage your claims for. Put her in one (any) group and give that same group permissions on the claim. Worth noting, of course, that any new characters you memorize are put in the white group, so it's probably a good idea to not use that one.

Basically to 'share' a personal claim the claim owner needs to adjust permissions (tresspassing, theft, vandalism) by interacting with their little claim totem thing. You can change the settings for each individual color. If you don't want everyone on your kin list to have the same permissions then perhaps change your wife (or other way around) to green color or similar then click the permissions you will permit. If you both want to be able to create and destroy, take and store, etc with total freedom then you need to have all permissions selected.

Thanks for that. Worked like a charm, and set to a colour other than white as per your suggestion. That said, is there any benefit of using a village claim over a personal one for this? If so, is there a place where I can find this information?

EDIT: Also, will we both be able to expand the claim?

http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/

I found this and searching the forums to be helpful when I started back in December. :3 I think one of the big differences with personal and village is that anyone can trespass on a village claim but it's supposedly cheaper? Or something. I never made a village claim myself but that is from the info I gathered from looking around on this subject before.

And no.. only the claim owner can expand the claim.

I like free stuff so please keep it in the claim or I might claim it myself. Fair warning anybody could do it :P

That it does. I think the cheaper reference that had been said in one of the threads I picked it up from might of been reference to the total LP cost of the village claim vs personal claim on similar size of land covered.

Either way though, TehBoomer if it is just the two of you that are wanting to share the claim then a personal claim is probably all you will ever need or want. x3

Anyone CAN walk on a village claim, though just like personal claims you'll need theft and vandi to take from and or destroy.
(Unless something was recently changed to that.)
