loot from dead body?

I cant loot from a dead body without theft. but after awhile will i be able to loot the body without theft?

Have the devs ever heard of a "dead man's watch" ?

How "realistic"
I wish to join a SMALL community or a newish player.

My fave tasks are Hunting, Fishing, Mining, Building, Crafting

I like free stuff so please keep it in the claim or I might claim it myself. Fair warning anybody could do it :P

No. However, once the body decays into a skeleton all the items it was carrying will be scattered around. Then you can pick them all up freely.
Now how long this will take (and whether or not you will be able to be online in time) is another question.
