How to bury corpse

So I died and am trying to bury my corpse. I have the grave all made inside a cave. Does the body have to be a skeleton first?

so I must wait some days, to corpse become a skeleton? Is there another way to bury my corpse and receive LP and FEP right now?

It takes roughly 24h for it to turn into corpse so it isn't thát bad.
