You need to hold one bucket full of water, and another empty. The water bucket will go empty, and the empty one will be filled with tanning fluid. You can be lifting an empty barrel in the process, and rigth click it with the bucket full of tanning fluid, to store it on the barrel. A barrell can hold 100l of tanning fluid, and a tanning tub can hold 40L, so each barrel you fill can be used for 2.5 tanning tubs.

Another tip on this. If you have a barrel filled with the tanning fluid. You can lift the barrel and then right click the tub. It fills the tub from the barrel.

Yhea, I forgot this. In general think that a barrel works like a bucket, but lifted.

Loftar, please change tanning fluid creating mechanic to turn the water in the bucket instead of needing an empty container. .

The juggling with the buckets sucks and gives nothing to the game.

+1 ... it's incredibly annoying, esp if you are making it away from a container, such as at the river bank.
Also, can we not lose buckets in shallow water, pls, I keep losing them through misclicking or forgetting to have a hand free. :x

Also, it's very counter-intuitive for newbies. Lots of people don't get it at first, and many have to ask about it.

At least remove the craft all button, it taunts me every time.

Also, would be so lovely if it took water from the bucket first, rather than draining my waterskin!
