Requirements for killing stuff?

Postby Amigopen » Thu Feb 25, 2016 6:25 am

I was wondering what stat levels are recommended for killing animals like foxes and badgers? I fought an ant with 13 STR and 5 Unarmed Combat but that depleted more than half my health.

UA and agi are the main stats you need. Strength only affects damage, which essentially just makes things go a bit faster.

Ants can be easily fought with 5 UA and 10 agi, just kite them and put up your defences between attacks.

Bats can be beat easily with 30 UA and 25 agi. Be careful for the yellow attack when they get initiative.

If you can beat a bat you can probably beat a mouflon, they're pretty easy.

Foxes are harder than bats but only because they have high agi. Try maybe 35-40 agi and 30 UA.

Cows about 50 UA and 40-50 agi.

Slight disclaimer, I'm pretty much pulling these numbers out of my ass based on personal experience. It depends alot on how good you are at the combat system, and what moves you use. Archery is alot less skill-based and you don't have to invest as much lp in it, and a decent q bow and bone arrows will 1-shot most things anyways. Oh, and if an animal is too hard to beat, fight it from a cliff. That way you only have to survive 1 hit and you're good.

Good luck & happy hunting.

bats can be done with 15 ua 15 agi.

I've done both foxes and badgers with 20mc and 25 agi.

20mc, 20ua, and 30 agi aren't enough for a boar yet, or I'm still getting suckered into hitting tusk romp too much. Probably the latter.
W3 to W6 - Blockland. Special mentions: New Avalon, Tarn of Hotdog, Red October.
W7 - Elvenia, til we all got lazy.
W8 - Cult of R'lyeh, til the deeps called us back.
W9 - Tartarus, til death/wizards came for the land itself.
W10 - ???, ruined and forgotten.

Did you forget that left hook exists?
Last world I could ua board at like 35ua, 20mc, and 30agi

i noticed the ants i've fought are equal at 5ua as their attacks depletes one defense, the higher ua the less their attacks took off a defense
i learned i could have 1ua plus the 4 pieces of nettle to get 5ua then 'kite' the ants as run away to get defenses up then go back in for an attack. you can get away from them at '2 speed'

they have about 60hp and quick dodge has the shortest cd, i would get one quick dodge and 'tap' the ant with either left hook or haymaker, left hook does 15-25 damage depending on your str and haymaker did around 40 but is incredibly slow, since you're simply 'tapping' the ant the cooldown doesn't hurt so much
punch has a shorter cooldown but the ant has more defenses against green attacks, punch did 10-20 damage

with a stone axe at 15q i was chopping for 40-50 but any of the ants defenses will work against it and it has a longer cooldown

Block and attack weight

Your blocks can resist attack and your attack can break blocks better
Of course weapon/shield based attacks and blocks rely on Melee Combat and sometimes the weapon qualities

The skill of the attacker and defender are compared. The person with the higher skill hits harder and can absorb hits better. Same thing goes with melee combat.

@shubla: yeah, basically what you said, but figured i'd illuminate it a bit more.
