Tree planting and forest types

Does forest type affects the growth of trees?
Or can i just plant the leaf trees on coniferous forest biome without any problems?

in legacy, it did effect the growth rate of the tree. However, in Hafen... im not sure. id like to know :)

any type of forest will make all trees grow faster. it grows slow on grasslands and such. while growing it will replicate the type of forest it's planted on around itself. if it's not planted on a forest, it will create a generic type of forest called "wald".
