Is my Nidbane broken?

I unleashed a nidbane on a thief who wanted my precious meatgrinder, and then I followed it to their home... I watched it float into their tower, and then haven't seen or heard anything since. It's been like half an hour, and the dolmen still claims the nidbane is active (fetter not broke, no skull yet). Scents still claim the theif is in their tower, not offline. So... what do?

Criminals are always online due to their outlaw debuff, so he was likely logged out but forced online due to debuff.

Yeah, nidbanes for anything other than murder probably is a waste of resources. Anyone that knows how to fight will kill one easily. Unless you catch them afk for 24+ hours or can send several at once.

Anyway, since it doesn't attack, could you use an alt to easily kill any Nidbanes sent against you or something? If you know you're a criminal just always log into your alt to kill any Nids before you log into your main? That'd be pretty broken >.>
