How to Kill Bear?

İ got 16 mm and q13 bow and lot of >q15 bone arrows i can hunt other animals but bear have rage so if bear flee i cant follow and kill with meele.

How do i kill a bear?

what kind of trap? object traps don't work, since from midle w8 they got patched up to break anything in front of them when they go on run mode or aggro mode! (every animal)

They don't break items in flee mode. You can also surround them with people, assuming you have sufficient armour/stats to survive the bear.

They don't break items in flee mode. You can also surround them with people, assuming you have sufficient armour/stats to survive the bear.

When did that change? last world they broke stuff on flee mode (once I chased a boar, it run by a friends plot breaking everything in its path)

They are just so buggy.
Easy to hunt by blocking them,.

Animals did not break objects in flee mode in world 8.

i usually follow the bear until it goes near a long ridge, preferably horseshoe shaped or 2 that are parallel. then i aggro the bear and jump off the ridge and the bear should be 'stuck' there glaring at you. then get an alt and have him build a fence about 15-20 tiles away (they will attack anyone that gets close). then shoot him once (or a lot with a sling) and he'll bounce around the trap. now you can walk freely around the bear. you can attempt to learn cleave with a sword but try to count damage and don't go over 400 imo. try to make the cage smaller until he stops moving, then shoot/pelt away
typically use stockpiles and roundpole fences. takes 10 branches then you can cover up to 17 tiles away in the 4 directions using only 1 branch, can't do diagonals
if there are only short ridges near you, try to extend them by digging

Aggro any animal when your on boat, lure them to the edge, prefer pointy locations.

Then unaggro the animal and back away until you are not in combat anymore.

Come back, land ~10 tiles away from animal, shoot it, jump in boat, rince and repeat.

Since you are on land when you damage them they don't flee until they are very low hp (or enrage with bears)

You are safe as long as you can jump in the boat and row away faster than the creature get to you;)
