Avoid using keys as a hermit

Postby fmfk86 » Sun Mar 13, 2016 10:28 am

Ive built a palisade and put my hearthfire inside. When leaving I still need the key though to get outside and lock the door. In legacy haven I built a village idol so I could have my hearthfire outside and my idol inside and then jump around. Does that work around still work? Are there somewhat easier ways? Ive been seeing crossroads but it seems that everyone can use them.
(I could of course use an alt as a doorman but logging in and out ever time would be too annoying/worth taking the risk.

(I might sound paranoid but it happened to me twice in other worlds that someone stalked me, killed me and took over my settlement)

Keep a slave key on you, they cannot be used to enter a gate only exit it. Keep the master key safe and no one can break into your home. Just teleport back inside of your walls using your hearthfire and exit using the slave key.

Crossroads are gone, you're seeing road signs which cannot teleport through objects such as walls.

oh wow, so easy! Thanks a lot! I read about the different keys but somehow just thought it was about "copying rights" and just skimmed through it without paying attention.

Any way to install a new lock on pali-doors, if i have master key, so the stolen one will become useless?
Edit: the answer is here http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Uninstalled_Lock
