Questions regarding weaponry.

Postby basuranephilim » Sun Mar 13, 2016 6:23 pm

Alright, i've been seeing a lot of stuff around the forum, conflicting a bit, or not being clear or wholesome.
Neither does the wiki help much in this regard, nor the search function.

I've got some questions, to make things more comprehensible:

What weapons and types are there in the game.
What are their distinct differences.
What attributes to they use, and what skills do they work with.
What are the pros and cons of each?

You start with your fists, then comes the stone axe.
Practice on individual ants so you'll get the idea, everything after that comes with time as you learn more - so it would be spoilers...

I understand where you're coming from, and I don't disagree, to an extend.
It's just that I would like to know what's useful to level and what not, what to aim for. So I won't waste my LP and time, going down the wrong way.

I'm just curious for things like:

Why is sword and shield the way to go currently.
Is B12 a weapon that uses UA (I read that in a post) and why is it, it's a huge axe...
Does the stone axe use UA, or MC, etc.

There's a lot of knowledge in the community, i'm not too lazy to try everything myself, but it's just too much and spanding too wide.
Especially when the knowledge is readily available in the community.
My char isn't going to be perfect, since i'm a noob, but I want to have a semblance of something usable xP

The two defenses that use MC skill are shield and parry, which you can't use with a B12 equipped. The point of the B12 is that you use your unarmed hits normally, but when the person's defense is vulnerable you cleave/chop them with the B12 so you hopefully one-shot through armour. You can do the same with a sword but damage is less so you might not get a one-shot off.

If seen from the perspective of 'not waste LP': you need UA to not instantly die because of missing defenses, so go there. In case you get a sword later you can then put some into MC.20-30 MM speeds up hunting (use a boat and don't let the animal come to close).

Nevertheless, expect to die in case you PvP - it works by different rules (pace and what is thrown at you) then PvE.
