How do I make a firebrand from a fire?

I cannot figure out how to create a firebrand from an existing fire. I have been endlessly doing random things and my dumb brain can't figure it out.

after the fire is lit you just take a branch and right click the fire. If the fire isn't full it will put branches in for fuel till it is full then it will start making firebrands.
