get armor with over 30 absorption then you only need to put up defenses when the beast has 2+ ip
take your time from there to learn ur skills

storm of swords is from bats and you need 8+ ip

For the chop move what i know is:

Ants and boars give it. Boars are easy to kill and when they flee they are very slow, so just make it flee and while you are chasing it spam defensive skills. If you run out of them, deagro him and agro again and repeat the sequence while he flees. I recomend you a full take aim setup and spam it untill the discover skills apear.

Bears give Claive and sting (lynxes and moose 2). The good thing about bears is that when they flee they wont atack you so: make it flee and if you are lucky and you can trap him with a boat in a shallow water area with a narrow acces to it, block it with your boat. If he cant move from that place, just spawn defenses or the take aim deck i told before until the discoveries appear. Be pattient: i got like 9 "one punch" in a single bear.
Trap them.

If you have time and space you could also make a big square area surrounded by village banners, leaving the central area free of authority objects. Doing this you will have the chance of animals spawning in that non auth area inside your walls. This way you can fight and make flee any animal and do the strategy I told you until you get the right "moves" or skills.

To anyone spreading rumors about certain animals giving certain discoveries: They're false

I have all sword attacks and blocks from fighting ants and bats (chop, sting, storm of swords, parry, not cleave yet but that's just bad luck)
Feel free to note what animals might give more discoveries or are easier to kill for them (slow, much hp, little damage), but certain blocks, attacks, and moves aren't "from badgers" or "from bears" exclusively.

Not bad luck. Bears and moose give cleave and I think another animal but can't recall which one.

Lynxes give cleave too. Bats do not.

Also abt, have you gotten steal thunder, think, zig zag, etc.? Yeah didn't think so buddy, different animals have a different movepool, and bats don't have cleave (and possibly not zig zag which is more important imo).

Time to prove you wrong, mate

I can't imagine a specific animal can't give certain moves, though I would say some animals give more discoveries in general than others, and maybe you can only get a certain number of discoveries off a certain animal type. Case in point, by the end off last world I couldn't even scrape a quick dodge or any discoveries off of ants, whereas I'm pretty sure I did get a steal thunder from a bat.

You can't say that bats never give cleave with absolute certainty unless you know how discoveries are coded.

I only need one counterexample to prove you wrong, and I plan on doing so.
