Yet another combat topic... UA/MC/AGI... How much ?

Hi,

I have quite a few specific questions about combat :

Right now I have 377k lp, with 60k available.
I have 24UA, 0MC and 34 AGI, wearing my current equipment.
So far I've been learning the combat system, and fought bats then ants to get some moves and loot.
I've discovered chop, and happen to have 3 bars of bronze so I can craft myself a bronze sword Q15-20 if it's worth it. I otherwise have a stone axe QL30-35.

- I read a lot of people praising MC, but I have no idea how it works exactly.
Is it that UA defines your blocks and punches, but MC defines chop/sting/parry... with weapon and shield ?
What about the QL of weapons and shield ? What about the brass knuckles ?

- What should I do with my stats ? Keep going UA then transition, raise MC right now to use a shield with the sword I can craft, or raise them both together. What kind of moves should I try to get/use, and how to get them ? (noob friendly prefered :p)

- I would like to know wich defense moves, armor class and stats I should use against the rest of the wildlife, foxes badgers boars horses aurochs etc... I would like safe numbers, I began fighing bats without armor at 20ua 20agi and it was ok, not super safe but ok. This is to hunt/get better at combat so I can defend myself, and to tame too. I'm guessing taming a beast is juste like hunting it but without the killing blow...

are you planning to pvp at all? if no, then just go ua and use chop/sting to finish animals. 300mc vs 1mc is same damage, only the weight of the attack differs
if you have a horse available then you can chase animals so armor is more important than a sword to finish the animal

pvp? if yes, then go mc for the defenses shield up and parry. they're probably the easiest defenses to maintain without the use of ip. ua is only used in pvp to break guards as punch is a quick attack compared to others that doesn't use ip

Hunting animals - 100% meele
hunting people - 50% meele 50% ua

Thanks for input guys, but you said the opposite from each other.

I won't "hunt" people, but I'm the one reading the wiki/forums and teaching my group of friend. So far I'm the one learning the combat, although I'll teach them soon.
I/we need to be ready in case we have to defend ourselves. I am a peaceful player, but I don't like being helpless. I want to be able to retaliate if someone fucks with me.
The combat system was a pain to learn in legacy so I didn't bother, but now it's alright. And I think some guys around me are not that friendly, but they are roughly as developed as us, so just in case, I want to be ready.

So no matter how much MC, my damage is coming from the QL and STR ? Is it the same for UA ?

My main goal would be to be able to tame/hunt animals, with defending myself from griefers on the side.

just go full melee. with parry, take aim and sting you can kill most animals in seconds.

ua is faster imo as you can just keep quick dodge or artful evasion up to deal with anything below bear/moose. lower cd than shield up afaik
parry will kill ants in swarms though

i got no pvp experience in hafen btw

Shield up's cooldown doesn't really matter since, against animals, you will only use it while the animal is running towards you. Parry is way superior to shield up when it comes to fighting the animal because of it's insanely low cooldown and because it breaks red defense (which is the first defense for some animals, so you can instantly sting or cleave after it breaks it for a 2 second animal kill)

Melee and no UA for animals, and both for pvp... What should be my goal in each then, knowing that I'm not in a big faction, and I mainly want to hunt/defend myself ?

Any infos on the stats I need to tame/hunt animals please ? :]

If you want to defend yourself, then your goal should be 330 everything and stay on a horse outside.

Obviously it's not going to happen.
I am asking because you and others are into pvp, I'm not.
Coles recently said that you can pretty much stalemate a fight keeping up defenses.
I expected a realistic answer. Like 50/80 with X/X armor... Keep in mind that I am not planning on defending against botters, big factions, full time pvpers and such... But against "average" people.
I have no idea about suh things, that's why I'm asking in "How do I"... And field testing is not an option ¦]
