Initiative

What does initiative do? I've tested stuff with it but It seems to me it changes nothing. Also do you learn new attacks from specific animals, or can you learn any new attack from any animal as long as you have taken enough UA or MC for it?

Initiative is spent with certain attacks.

Certain animals give different moves, but if you want melee combat moves you need to be holding a sword/axe/shield when discovering.

Thank you, what animals should I be attacking if I want the attack "sting"?

I know for sure you can get it from boars. If you can't fight them head on then just shoot one with a bow and do take aim when it's running to trigger the discovery.

Great advice. Thank you!

I got sting from a bat, yet have no conclusive evidence to suggest any discovery can only be obtained from certain animals.

Afaik all animals can get you all discos, although it seems some animals generally seem so bear more discos than others, some specific ones are rarer than others, and of course if an attack or block requires a piece of equipment (sting for example requires a sword or spear) you must be wearing that item to discover its moves.

I'm pretty sure I got sting from a badger.
With leather armor and bronze sword I begun fighting them when I had 40 in mc (but you'd do it with ua too) and 40 agi. I'm pretty sure you can do it with less.

I suggest MC with a shield and get both parry and shield up wich cover all your defenses(I think I got that from ants/bats).

For sting I think you need at least 3ip ? Same goes with other moves, you need to meet their prerequisite in IP to actually have a chance of discovering them.

(bear in mind you can't get multiple discoveries from the same animal)

Can you stop posting misinformation on this topic. You did it in the cleave thread too.
