Question re prospecting and cellars

So when you dig out a cellar, my understanding is the boulders you get are whatever was directly underneath the house.

Does this mean you can prospect for ore with rustroot and when you find a spot with ore, build a house and then dig out a cellars load of ore?

No, it'll give your the closest rock instead. Can't have unlimited ore .

If i'm correct, it's now the same with coal. U can't have it anymore from cellar.

I think it was so at w8, but was fixed in some patch... but I may be wrong...

It was fixed. You can only get stone (original design), and doesn't include black coal (patched out).
