How should a regular foraging trip be like?

Postby happyface104 » Fri Apr 08, 2016 7:04 pm

I have decent perc*explor (50x50) and as the village forager, I can't help but feel useless.

It's either the occasional q10 flotsam every 1-2 hours of boating, or a bunch of dragonflies. I've got no mountains nearby either, and caves are as bare as study window.

How do you guys go about foraging, or is the fate system as ass as its made out to be?

Dunno why, but after i killed my forager i feel like he sees more curios. Before it was a pain in the ass to find a flotsam, now he sees like 2-3 every day, same goes for bluebells which i never seen before. Maybe this death is not related to this, maybe it's because he is almost 24h online.

Why would you kill your own forager?

Maybe he became kill without the owner doing the killing.

3x 40 wretched gore, severe maulling, multiple deep cuts and fell slashes. Half that due to lags and playing lol while foraging.

Don't rely on big fancy forageables is all i can say. They seem rarer overall, although with 60x100 perc x exp i do see quite a bit more bluebells and stuff, but all in all pretty rare to keep even a small group fed with fate curios. I've seen a few trends where my "queue" or however the system works flopped. I started with bolete spam, which then subsided after quite a few glimmermoss in a row. It took finding an accidental bluebell or two and maybe a flotsam that it unlocked back to boletes and actually a more healthy mix of everything. So my suggestion is, go to all the usual biomes with fate stuff in them, try to unlock whatever's slowing your stuff down.

i thought foraging was half food half curiosities :?

i live near a swamp so that's the majority of curiosities, then it's hunting and mushrooms :3

Take a bow and some arrows to hunt. All you need is 10mm and a boat or two for anything other than a mammoth. Otherwise, if you use a horse, you just need a little unarmed combat and agility.
