Food trough

Postby cattboy » Sat Apr 09, 2016 12:12 pm

Hello

Q1)
Will the food in a trough decay if not eaten? IE: I want to fill up a few food troughs before I tame some animals (so im prepared). From what I've read, it shouldnt... just dont have it close to the outside walls because roaming wilds animals will eat from it instead of grazing on the grass outside

Q2)
Will animals gain stats based on the quality of the food in the trough? Or do they only gain stats through breeding?

thx

1) No, food does not decay at all unless you drop it on the ground, in which case all items dropped will disappear anywhere from 5m to 20-30 minutes. Wild animals won't eat from a trough... they technically don't eat at all.

you can also have the animals eat grass you plant but causes them to lose health. this affects the produce from animals such as a fresh tamed cow will give 10q milk after pregnancy but if only grass it will give under 10q milk. also affects breeding stats i believe
it's best to fill troughs and pave over nearby grass

but grass is better than dead animals
