Is there a delay on logging out?

If I :lo, does my character linger for a while? Or does he instantly bugger off?
Seeing other people scares me enough to instantly log off, so I gotta make sure they can't run up and curbstomp me before I can escape.

Yes, you will stay for like 3-4 seconds before logging out completely. You can see this clearly if you logout one of your alts

If someone's intent is to attack you, they will have time to attack you if you log off or try to teleport to hearthfire. Your best bet is to simply, well, run.

the auto hearth option of the amber client is in most of the times fast enough to get your ass out of there since it starts the teleport as soon as you see an unknown player on your minimap. If the other player has a fast reaction time he could still get you aggroed tho.

If you manage to get the ~6 second cast time on the teleport to hearthfire off before you get aggroed, odds are they weren't interested in fighting you.
