Have all the things for Beacon but still can't build{solved}

Before my main died, I built a beacon for a neighbor. Now that i've got a new character in that area, I was going to build another for an irl friend to join my area but can't! I have stone, clay, boards, and blocks of wood. My Carpentry is at 11, and i swear i built a beacon with lower carpentry than that last time.

Is my skill still too low to build beacons? This charry hasn't even unlocked the icon for beacons even though I have all the supplies.

have all the things required to "discover" it which is why i'm at a bit of a loss. All of this has been in my inventory since i brought my carpentry up

Discovering means creating/finding the ingredient yourself, or using a parchment to learn it from. Can you make a table (boards + blocks discovered), clay pot (clay) and fireplace (stone)? If not, your character hasn't discovered the items for that particular item.

Oh. My. God. I thought I just had to discover it via having it in my inventory at least once (several other things unlocked just by opening my previous characters cabinets). I just had my charry go dig up some clay from a river bed and it's just unlocked everything i was missing. I'm face-palming hard. Thank you

Also, the Carpentry stat only increases the soft-cap of all carpentry items. The actual skill Carpentry allows you to build all carpentry things as long as you've discovered the ingredients. The stat in no way effects what you can make, only the quality.
