Questions about hunting with a bow

So a few days a go I went hunting with a shitty alt (25 per 18 mark) with a bow and I could hit every animal my first shot. A few days later I use the same alt and I go out and I cannot hit one single animal. The arrow always seems to go to the left of the animal and I missed every single shot. If this was just chance, what stats do I need to accurately shoot animals, and does perception affect the accuracy or the damage done?

Accuracy is per*mm, the damage is dependent on the quality of both the bow and the arrows you're using. If you want to have good accuracy you're going to have to raise your perception and marksmanship up to a lot higher than 25 and 18. Both stats at 40 should do nicely.

Perception affects damage, along with the substance of the bow and arrow.

Aimspeed is the lower value of the bow and arrow's vitality (I think, could be essence) multiplied by your marksmanship skill. This should get fixed to the average of bow and arrow soon™.

Essence (Or, possibly vitality, if above is wrong) affects the percentage of the bar you lose when you reaim, and how much of the bar you keep when you ctrl click (walk) with bow aimed.

TL;DR: mm & bow/arrow quality affects aimspeed.
