Question about beehive

Postby DisKagel » Mon May 09, 2016 11:40 pm

So when multiple beehives cover the same area, would the wax production of the hives be reduced because multiple hives cover the same crops, or would wax production remain the same as with one hive?

The increase in wax production per tick goes to the nearest hive. Assuming they're equidistant on a symmetrical plot of land covering the same number of crops the only benefit you'll get from having a second hive is it's passive wax production.

Make sure to have one hive per 50 fast growing crops (carrots/beets). For slower ones, one per 100 is probably adequate.

beehives have passive wax generation aswell. so i like to double up or better on my crops. no harm in it once you have enough straw lying around

I believe the rules for how bees work are on the wiki. http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Bee_Skep

Even if you just have a lot of crops hitting growth stages at about the same time, you may benefit from more than one covering the area. 50 tiles to feed when you can cover approximately 500 tiles with one skep is seriously lacking.
