Dangerous areas to settle?

Postby darkulrich » Sun May 15, 2016 6:57 pm

So, I know that this kind of topics are always somewhat dangerous because of trolls (the IRL ones, I mean), but I was wondering, for two players that cannot really compete in PvP due to time restraints, which areas of the map would be "good" to settle? And which would be the most dangerous?

We are kinda in the middle at the moment, I guess not too far from a very big village and we are planning to move.. But from the map and from the political threads there is no clear information.

Does it really matter in the end? Maybe the map borders are safer atm, away from water?

I think that areas near map borders are more dangerous than areas that arent near map borders. Because lot of people think that "I will go near the border to be safe" = theres a lot of other players there as well. Atleast thats my experience. I would suggest settling little bit north from map center. But not near edges. They attract people.

Yeah, I saw the image and this was already quite helpful, together with the topic. Thank you very much for reposting it :-)

I was just wondering if, from general experience, there are other "dangerous" areas that should be avoided at all costs. I tried to read the topic and this was really not much that clear. And of course this tends to change quite quickly with time, I guess..!

@Shubla: I had exactly the same thought, that's also why I asked. Thanks for your input!!

Tbh, she meant Ozzy's avatar. The most dangerous zone is likely to be around the wizards and great houses, unless they like you.

I'm right at a map edge and I have some (friendly) neighbors but other than them I basically never see anyone. I had way more trouble early on when I lived near a mountain.

Yea, mountains are problematic. Because of the high density of localized resources they get much traffic of not so nice people.
