Fishing

The fishing area of the wiki seems to be incorrect (or some information is missing/outdated)

I'm fishing in shallow lake with earthworms and I caught a Grayling. According to the wiki they can only be caught in lake depths with leeches/entrails. This is just 1 specific occurrence of fishing page being incorrect out of many that I've encountered. Is it outdated or is the info on the page just 'suggestions'?

caught Carp with earthworm when wiki says only rock lobster lures can catch them as well

Which page are you looking at? The current page isn't complete, the legacy page is considered outdated info. There has always been some randomness to the system, though. On eel days I could get 90% eels, but there was still that 10% "other".

That's the new one. It needs more information. We don't know if day and moon phase has a factor yet on catches. (I haven't seen anyone post anything positive, and I haven't been testing it.) Also, I theorize specific fish species have nodes. (See Salem's fishing mechanics.) With the change to "everything having its own node," I suspect it may be the case. Changing locations on the same day using similar baits seems to get different fish... maybe I'm just smoking the herbs too much on this one. :D

I feel the same way. I know of a location where I will catch 70% perch
I just suspect the baits and type of water (lake/river and depth) parts of the page are wildly incorrect/missing a lot of information- or they just don't matter and fishing just has nodes
