Spending learning points?

Postby Yuukki » Thu May 19, 2016 8:53 pm

I've got a base will walls and everything that I need for the most part. Focusing on player progression. at the moment. I'm wondering how I should use points. I'm hoping to get hunting and killing animals/creatures but don't know much about it.

Most of the skills available at the moment are mainly just stuff im not too interested. Except maybe mining but I heard for mining you need a lot of STR.

Also I was hoping build a battering ram but the craft isn't available. Not sure why...

Most of game industry will be limited by your raw materials: clay, soil, water. You will need high survival for getting this, so I suggest you will start here. You can also get this one to get higher quality WWW to start your farming quality faster and for getting curiosity for training the rest. I think if I will be solo player I will train skills like Exploration/Survival > Farming > Cooking > Other craft skills.

You can take 10 points into marksmanship at any point for killing the animals with the bow. You need to discover brimstone for ram. I think you may need siege craft skill now too. I think you do not need a ram unless you will want to attack other player. I do not think you want to do this at this point in the game. If you want to break your own building, you will want to build the wrecking ball. This will need hard leather though.

Well... I found an old abandon base and claimed over the palisade. Issue is with the gate. I claimed the entrance but I can't use the gate since it requires a master key to change locks and a key with to interact with in general... I was hoping to break it down. (It's technically on my claim but I didn't build it)

What do I need to build a wrecking ball? Like what skill? also whats WWW? I've got like 6k learning point so wondering where to place for best use.

In order: board, block, stone, bone glue, hard leather, rope.

I think wrecking ball will be sufficient to break the wall. See wikipedia. I do not know what skills you need to build it. WWW is wild windsown weed, you will dry this to get seeds for farming. Though maybe this base you take will already have seeds inside.

If you are asking which skills to buy as in one time skill, I would say to just buy them as you are needing them. You eventually will probably want to buy all of these as a solo player.

ooh alright. I actually have every type of seed at the base im at. So seeds are covered I believe. I see I was missing wax discovery but I got that now. The only issue is I don't have the craftable wax but maybe I need to get regather the item and it may unlock it now. I'm not sure.

Wrecking ball should be easy enough to make though so I'll start on that soon hopefully. I don't really need any skills at the moment...

Would you suggest marksmanship or exploration/survival at the moment?

You can start killing animals with just one MM, though more helps. Pushing survival higher will be more helpful, but you can make gildings for your clothing to help with this in the short term. Of course, the same goes for other skills and stats, too. It just depends on what materials you have ready access to.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
