Repair / recycle equipment

How do I repair equipment? In the patch notes Game Development: Inbetween it said you could take a piece of equipment and repair another piece of the same kind by picking up one and right clicking the other. However that does nothing for me ? Tried with Leather Shoes, Leather Pants, Badger Vest, Boar Tusk Helmet and Bat Wing Cape.

It was not about armor repair, it was about clothing gilding recycling

But then there is this:

[*] You can now recycle old completed pieces of equipment. Hold a completed piece of equipment, and right click another completed piece of equipment of the same kind. The item held will be consumed to repair the clicked item. Your final product will be one item of that type, with a clean slot, and with qualities averaged. You then roll once for each gilding in either of the pieces of equipment -- chance being half of what your normal chance to gild the item would be -- if you succeed you keep the gilding as slotted into the new end product, and failing that you have another chance (50%) to keep the gilding as a loose, available, gilding.

So I took it as armor as well, otherwise there is nothing to "repair", just Gildings to regain. Oh well. It is what it is I guess.

try this on any gildable item with wear (badger west, bat cape, etc) and you'll get, what does "repair" stands for.

I did try Badger Vest, Bat Cape like I wrote in my OP. Badger Vest and Bat Cape had wear to almost broken, each had a gilding and I tried to "repair" with a newly crafted Item of the same kind. Nothing.

I also tried using the official client, just in case. No difference.

Hmm, was sure it worked for me... Than just another bad word selection from Jorb. "Aware"

well used it prety good for non armor giving items today, ya its risky, but if you have stuff in plenty it comes out good. But I guess some of this is all on what you expect.

from what little testing I have done, with bat capes, you can only "repair" Like items, (as in they each have to be gilded, and with the same number of gilding slots) IE: if batcape one has 2 fully gilded slots( and both slots must have a gild in it) then you must use a second 2 slotted bat cape to "repair" the first.

Ok let's put it into simple words.

The word "repair" is, indeed, chosen poorly, yet still you can somewhat mend a broken item when recycling. When you recycle two completed items (i.e. with finished gilding), you pick item1 (the one to be destroyed) and click it on item2. If those items have durability, the resulting item3 will have quality of (item1+item2)/2, and the wear of item2.

So, you can not "repair" an item, per se, but you ca use the recycling system to get an item with full durability (zero wear).
