well I finally got all the ingredients for my new home. and looking around did a test run on my existing place(LP cost wise) and saw I will be spending upwards between 30-50K of lp for this new piece of land.

mind you I'm still Low level, hell I don't think my char has seen 200k of lp yet.

I don't remember land costing this much, has inflation gone Way up.

While I agree there should be mechanics in place to make sure people don't use P-claims as personal LP Vaults I disagree with the amount it costs.

So am I doing something wrong? I just recently learned the clover/horse/swamp trick so I wanted to talk it out with y'all.

my 0.02$ worth, P claims should cost next to nothing to put up, but the price to keep them up should be an exponential factor or some other formula. sure a 100 by 100 costs you roughly a thousand lp initially but to keep it up its going to have a drain of 100K (this is just a off the head formula. As I see a 100 by 100 plot rather in excess on a single player)

So you will rather pay 100k LP/day in upkeep than 50k one time fee? I do not understand this one. One time fee is much cheaper than upkeep fee (in general, not just for this numbers).

50k LP is not very much after you will be established. Maybe you can do with smaller land until you may afford the price. I think the pricing is fine right now.

You arent meant to be claiming huge areas with pclaim.
Village claim is meant for that.

hmmm mayby I didn't explain well enough, or we just disagree. lets me try again.

first off that formula is just a rough draft, but yes, I would rather pay a very much lower starter setup but know I must pay a very big upkeep fee than pay a large initial startup fee and a trivial upkeep fee. the reasoning is planning and construction. first off, if I am some well advanced character, I'm going to have LP to spare, so I'll just eat up huge tracts of land and then no worries on the upkeep(which is a trivial fee) as one of my curios would probably pay for it everyday, hence advanced players and villages could if they wanted to in previous worlds just but up huge tracts of land and no worries. Now I know that if it was reversed(low initial startup and huge upkeep) that the advanced player would be able to buy up huge tracts of land even easier, but the catch here is the fact so can the newer players. also with a bigger upkeep, I am betting it would be more "irksome" for the advanced player than what it is now, also it would teach the newer player not to be so land hungry. of course originally I was talking about a 100 by 100 tract of land for 1 player, which in my opinion is a bit large for one player

alas as I just looked up on the RoB about p claims and villages I feel I will have to do this, though as a char under 200K authority under his belt, deer may be bad to melee against, but seems the best alternative.

Take a bow and a boat, find deer, aggro it, drag it onto a big shallows, boat away till you lose aggro, return, boat near deer so you are on shallows (so it won't flee but attack you), shoot it, goto 'boat away' if it is not dead and attacks you, drop aggro in case it flees, wait for it to leave your map, wait 10 seconds longer, follow it, shoot it point blank, you have a deer. Make better arrows from the bones, straps and a better bow from the hide, kill 3 more, build village.
