Archery PvP

As an old player, back in the days, even with Ranger bow, archery was trash for PvP and did close to no damage.

Now, from random topics I've seen, seems like it is viable actually.

Since I wanted to raise MM for hunting with a bow, I might as well continue with it and get it ready for PvP one day.

Question is now, can somebody give me a rough guideline on what I need to level/focus mainly to start out as an archer and end up being able to PvP as an archer?

I'd love to know where to put my stats, and with how many I'll be roughly able to take down wildlife (boars, bears ect) and overall any tips to make archery worthwhile.

That graph sure was helpful to an extent, but I'd still like actual answers to my questions.

I am not good PvP player, but you can see things that affecting archery ability at wikipedia, I do not know that this is accurate though.

You can kill animal with 1 marksmanship, but more is better. I think Sevenless guide will recommending 10 marksmanship for this task.

Thanks for the help there. Anybody else has any input on how to build my character, in terms of advancing to be a hunter with a bow, and later PvP with a bow too, please leave your suggestions here.

Yea I'm not waiting for changes. I just wanna play really, so I'm asking what way to build. I'm on 21 perc right now and 1 MM, so I'm wondering if I should invest more to be effective at hunting with a bow + bone arrows.

For hunting, definitely. You want the best gear (within reason) to bring down animals as easily as possible.

If nothing else, barring a massive archery nerf in PvP, it'll still be solid for some ranged or surprise hits. I look for one to come, but not as much as some of these guys are wanting.

@shubla: That potato was more useful than that chart. Pros use the OP mechanics until they get nerfed. Scrubs cry about something being OP because they don't want to change their habits. (I say that, but like I'm anything more than a noob. )
