Breaking Old Claims

I built my house and area around it after a old, what seemed to be, claim. When I got the Yeomanry skill, I attempted to place one, the old claim was still there, inactive, and blocked my placement. I then attempted to break it, I went at it for a long time, but to no avail. Any help? Do I need any specific skills? Please answer this quickly, since I am a bit antsy having no protection on my possessions.

OK, never mind. I'm dumb.
I kept going at it for another 20~ minutes and it broke. (:
