Do cave-ins currently kill you?

Wondering how the cave ins work at the moment, how they deal damage and etc.
Want to get into mining and I would appreciate it if someone could explain that stuff for me.

Yes, cave-ins will kill you if you're on low enough health.

IIRC 50hhp per stone hitting you per level.

Use miners helmet or build supports.

Really? A Cave-In took me FULL 112 SHP and brought me down to 50 HHP.

You're always expected to be knocked out (= taking out full SHP you have), the 12 additional HHP damage you took could be from additional concussion by faceplanting on knockout...

Yeah, I lost about 50 HHP as well a few days ago when I was trying out mining. Gladly I got lucky and smelted a bar of tin with only 3 ore and now I'm mining chalcopyrite.
