Boars are nasty critters, often attacking with no provocation (My first ever death in HnH was a result of an unprovoked boar attacking me*) and are pretty much impossible to fight head on if you don't know the combat system and/or don't have stats.
Boars can however be outrun with relative ease. Hearthling that uses third movement speed setting (run) is faster than boar. By running directly away from the boar, keeping your clicks so that they take you long distances without hitting trees should result you getting away as (at least currently) boars aren't best at pathfinding their way around trees.
*In older worlds, boar could decide to keep hitting you even when you were down, eventually killing you. In current world this RNG-heavy and highly binary method of punishment was mostly replaced with more consistent Concussion mechanic. Animals can still kill you if your HHP is low enough for them to deal killing blow before you KO or they have attacks queued that they will perform even when you're down.
