Ropewalk condition

Postby Cab361 » Fri Jun 17, 2016 6:16 am

ok so I made a ropewalk about 2 or so hours ago and I needed to make some rope finally, but when I tried to use it, it claimed that it was in too poor condition to be used. I know I could just repair it but, I was wondering, does anyone know what caused this? I mean its impossible for it to decay that fast but I hope someone was insight on this strange occurance :)

As far as I understand the mechanic, decay ticks happen randomly. So, if the ropewalk wasn't on a claimed land or inside a house/cave, it could on a rare occasion receive a decay tick in 2 hours after being built. At least I have never heard anything about "invincibility period" after construction in which objects would not decay.

I'd have to agree with Hasta, I don't think there's an "invincibility" period for any building in this game. There's a certain (very very small) chance that it will decay when a tick happens.

It'll be damaged if decay tick hits one of the tiles it is located on, since it is quite big it has a high chance of being affected by decay.

Solution: erect it on claimed land which protects against decay.

Thanks for the help :D , my ropewalk is literally feet away from my claimed land and I didn't think it would decay like that so I didn't bother putting it in my claimed land

Bad luck.
