So I just died via bear and I guess I never new this game was perma death lol but how does one get back to his base now that im in the world again with a new character? also does it mean i still have my claim or do you have to do it all over again?

When you create a new character on the same account you used with the character that you died, there's option to use black Runestone in the memorial area behind the fire and wizard. By pressing "Inherit" following will result.
1. You will gain some of your ancestor's (your previous character) stats. Burying ancestor's corpse (possible after it turns into a skeleton) will give you some more. Before burial, consider not to increase any of your attributes or abilities since you can't go above certain threshold and they're wasted. Earning unspent LP is fine.
2. When/if you leave the character creation area by using the fire in front of the Wizard, you will spawn into his/her Hearthfire assuming that the pile of wood that it turned into hasn't been destroyed.
2. Once in actual game world, receive ownership to any personal claims he/she owned, giving you bonds to them as well.
